Even if you haven't been to Washington D.C., I bet you've seen this obelisk monument in some of the movies that you've watched (Forrest Gump is one of my all-time faves!). For me, it was quite a thrill to see it right before my very eyes. Built between 1848 and 1884 and located in the middle of the National Mall, it dominates the skyline to honor George Washington, the first President of the United States. This 555-foot-tall obelisk is the tallest structure in the District of Columbia, and by law, no other building in D.C. is allowed to be taller.
Great perspective and use of leading lines and lighting to draw you forward.
