You probably heard it in the news this morning...
"An unknown assailant struck at the heart of the crossroads of the world, detonating his homemade explosives at the foot of the Army recruitment station in Times Square."
It was not that big of a blast and thankfully, no one was hurt. The attack is something that's being investigated on right now and even the FBI is already involved.
Anyway, curiosity got the most out of me so I passed by Times Square on my way home from work. The blast shattered the building's glass door and mangled the door frame. Too bad I couldn't take photos of it as a number of cops were guarding it.
Well, except for the barriers around the recruiting station and an unusually large number of uniformed cops in the area.... it was business as usual. Blast or no blast, tourists and locals alike still packed what they call "the crossroads of the world".

Interesting shot of a current event. Be careful you don't get into trouble taking photo's - I think the governments everywhere are getting touchy about the use of cameras - well they are here in the UK anyway - and a number of innocent photographers have been arrested and questioned.

@Richard_Irwin: Thanks for the advise Richard. I will. In fact, I was apprehensive about taking the photo at first, but with the area packed with tourists and with everyone pointing their cameras at almost everything, well I guess I somehow felt it was safe for me to do my thing.
It's a sad fact though that heightened sensitivities over security (more so in the wake of 9/11) have affected photographers' freedom to shoot in public. =|
